JetBlue Implements Sciengistics' StationApps® Customer Service Staffing Software

Des Moines, Iowa - February 11, 2003

Sciengistics, a provider of staffing software for the airline industry, announced today that JetBlue Airways has successfully implemented its web-based customer service staffing software, StationApps®. After selecting Sciengistics last October, JetBlue completed initial implementation and training before the Thanksgiving holiday.

StationApps® is software that helps at all points in an airline's customer service staffing process, including budgeting and planning, analysis, workforce optimization, and scheduling.

"We selected Sciengistics because their system allows everyone on our customer service team to collaborate in the staffing process," said Nigel Adams, vice president of customer service at JetBlue. "StationApps® is a flexible, easy-to-use tool that can be scaled for all our operations, large and small."

StationApps® takes flight schedules, traffic patterns, and station layout information and determines the optimum scheduling of customer service personnel in order to meet customer needs for check-in, baggage handling, and other airport services.

"Our solution enables today's customer-focused airlines, such as JetBlue, to avoid playing trial and error with customer service," said Sciengistics' founder John Brant. "By modeling the effects of flight schedule changes, cross-utilization scenarios, and work force constraints, we help them determine in advance that their customer service standards are going to be met with the most efficient use of resources."

StationApps is licensed on a subscription basis and delivered over the Web. It is a proprietary solution built using Microsoft® .NET technology.

"As the innovative regional and national airlines continue their rise in the industry, we are there to provide them with affordable, easy-to-use technology tools that generate significant and rapid ROI," added Brant. "These carriers are constantly looking for ways to save money and improve customer service. StationApps® helps them do both. And when you consider that our solution can be implemented and pay for itself in a matter of a few months, we believe we have a compelling business innovation to offer to a large segment of the airline industry."
